About Me

Carl Waring

I’ve been involved in the legal profession in England and Wales, for over 35 years. It has captivated me throughout, even though I have loved and hated it in equal measures at different times throughout my career. It has made me ill. It has made me proud to be a part of it. It has infuriated me (and still does) and it has its claws in me still, after all this time.

The past few years have been some of the most enjoyable of my career. I’ve been writing for lawyers for a living. I love it, really love it. At times, the stuff that I write is pretty much down the line factual pieces in the form of webpage content. Then I write blogs where I can put some slant on the theme, and I also write blogs for other legal websites and publications where I can really let rip. I write press releases for law firms about their successes, their good deeds and their appeals for witnesses in sad cases of historic asbestos disease.

This blog will take on a life of its own, I hope. I’m not going to say that:

the aim of this blog is…

because it will be what it will be. I’m going to try and write lots of (I hope) interesting content with ‘law’ at its core. It’s not just going to be all about law. I feel passionate about justice in all walks of life, not just in the legal system and there’ll be blogs that reflect that. There might be the odd blog about German Shepherds, cricket or running. Certainly, there’ll be some stuff on trying to keep sane in this world. As a recovering alcoholic, that side of things is important to me too.

I hope that you enjoy watching the site develop. I’d certainly love your feedback. Feel free to get in touch. Enjoy your day. Life is for enjoying, not enduring.
